North Texas (also commonly called North Central Texas or Northeastern Texas) is a distinct cultural and geographic area forming the central-northeastern section of the U.S. state of Texas. North Texas is generally considered to include the area south of Oklahoma, east of Abilene, and north of Waco. North Texas, being more precisely the northern part of the eastern portion of Texas, does not include the Panhandle of Texas, despite the fact that it extends farther north.

North Texas is centered upon the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, the largest metropolitan area in Texas. People in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas sometimes use the terms "Metroplex" and "North Texas" interchangeably. However, North Texas actually refers to a much larger area that includes many rural counties.

What kind of tree to plant right now in North Texas?
Q. I know you're supposed to plant different plants according to the season.. Does anyone know what kind of trees are "in season" to plant right now in North Texas(Dallas area)? Kimberly- Thanks a ton! You gave me the exact info I was looking for :]

A. You might look for a copy of " Plants for the Metroplex" or "Plants of the Metroplex" by Howard Garrett. It gives you alot of information on the right and wrong trees to plant in the DFW area.

What is a good time of year to plan swimming/boating/camping trips in North Texas and Oklahoma?
Q. Im a noob camper/fisher and so far i have two trips im planning, but im unsure of what time of year to plan them (early spring, mid summer, late fall, ect...). The first trip is to Lake Grapvine in North Texas, a few friends and i want to rent a boat and fish and possibly swim a little. The second trip is a camping trip to Turner Falls in Oklahoma, where we plan to stay 3 day 2 nights, and want to swim and hike, and maybe fish. We will be taking my friends 4 year old, so we dont want it to be to rainy or cold, but i dont really want to go when its real crouded and/or when there is gunna be a lot of drinking ( like the 4th of july).

I might be going to North Texas Job Corp. What should I do?
Q. I mean I am scared of meeting new people. And I am scared that I might not fit in. So if anyone goes to North Texas Job Corp please if you could tell me what it is like. And if there are some "rocker" people or whatever people call it. Cause that would really help me. Plus do they have bathrooms there for only one or two people to use cause I would have a issue if I have to share a bathroom with more then one other person?

A. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill ,,, People are just as human in Texas as they are where you are at right now ,,, As far as bathrooms are concerned I"m sure their facilities are adequate for the demand ,,, I'm sure they are going to have people your age there also so there shouldn't be a problem with your fitting in at all ,,, You are spinning your wheels and going no where fast ,,, Instead of worrying about it look forward to it ,,, This is something that's going to broaden your life experience ,,, Texas isn't a different planet ,,, It's just another place in the same country similar in some ways to where you are already at ,,, Relax take a chill pill and calm down ,,, This is something you should look forward to not dread ,, [cont.]
