He was correct in stating that almost all motherboards automatically disable the built-in VGA port if there's a video card detected in the dedicated video slot at startup. He was incorrect in stating that most motherboards these days have multiple video card slots. Such motherboards (SLI and Crossfire) represent a very small minority of motherboards manufactured. Morever, SLI and Crossfire are designed to combine the processing power of multiple video cards to a SINGLE display for increased performance, not to drive separate displays. Just add an inexpensive pci card for your 3rd monitor. That's the low-cost solution.
